The final two acts and our blight-fueled 12th playable character, The Flagellant, will be new to our 1.0 release. Each act is a challenging expedition in which you assemble a party of four heroes and then navigate a series of deadly regions in a quest to reach the Mountain, which houses an imposing end boss themed to that particular Confession. We wanted to take this opportunity to discuss what you can expect on May 8th, and beyond.Īt launch the game will feature 12 playable characters with a complete narrative featuring 5 acts. Based on your comments, we made a number of improvements to our driving system, the Valley and first time user experience - along with a huge swath of new content and features. We want to send a massive thank you to those who played our demo in February and sent us feedback. Many of you got a glimpse of the game during Steam Next Fest. And lastly all edits should be made from a single mod script for easy management.Darkest Dungeon II releases here on Steam in just under 1 week! And it should be possible to tie edits to certain conditions - increase a value only if it doesn't exceed a certain maximum e.g. It should not only be possible to overwrite values, but also to increase, decrease or remove them. It should be able to change only very specific values in a file instead of overwriting the whole thing. Such a tool should be able to perform surgical edits.

If there's interest I could try to turn it into a general purpose modding tool. There's a very specific reason why I'm asking this too: This morning I wrote a little script that can parse and format *.darkest and *.json files.

Apart from constant updates by the developers, you probably also have to deal with conflicts between various mods. That's a tad annoying but it's probably nothing compared to the problems you guys who create actual mods have to deal with. I haven't created a mod myself but I made a few changes to one of the scripts and the latest update overwrote them.
